Mountain View, CA - May 29, 2008 - Fox Technologies (FoxT), Inc. announced today that Info Security Products Guide, a Silicon Valley Communications publication and the world's leading publication on security-related products and technologies, has named Visiant Security's deployment of centralized security and biometrics authentication at Telecom Italia Mobile Brazil, featuring the FoxT BoKS Access Control for Desktops solution, a winner of the 2008 Best Deployment Scenario Award. This prestigious award recognizes security vendors with advanced, ground-breaking security solutions that are helping set the bar higher for others in all areas of information security. The Visiant Security implementation of the FoxT BoKS Access Control for Desktops solution, including integration of the fingerprint reader from Sagem, was selected based on a best-in-class example of real world deployments that are making the most positive impact on security in todays highly sophisticated and blended attacks environment.
Telecom Italia Mobile in Brazil had an urgent business need to improve the security of their enterprise desktops. The challenge was finding the right combination of technologies that would work with their PCS architecture. Visiant Security, a leading systems integration firm, was selected to solve the desktop security challenge and proposed using a combination of finger print scanners and smart cards that would be seamlessly integrated with FoxT's BoKS Access Control for Desktops solution.
FoxT's solution was selected as a core platform because it provides centralized, enterprise-wide access control and credentials management for desktops. With BoKS, access to all desktops is defined and managed centrally and organizations can flexibly define how each user should authenticate including the user of passwords, SecurID tokens, smart cards, and X.509 certificate-based authentication. The FoxT solution authenticates all access attempts based on the location, credentials, access routes, and IT policy prescribed for that person and their role.
