FoxT Delivers New SFTP Graphical User Interface for BoKS SSH Client for Windows
Efficient file manager interface for secure file trans
Palo Alto, CA - August 15, 2007 - Fox Technologies Incorporated (www.foxt.com), a leading provider of enterprise compliance and access management solutions, today announced the release of SFTP graphical user interface capabilities for their BoKS SSH Client for Windows. The new SFTP capabilities provide a file manger for secure file transfers via SSH encrypted tunneling.
The BoKS SSH Client for Windows, part of the FoxT IT Controls access management solution suite, allows access rules for each individual SSH service to determine which role/user is allowed to access which server, using which method. Access rules can also be conditional based on when and where a connection is established. The FoxT BoKS SSH Client for Windows also features extremely secure single sign-on capabilities and secure x509 certificate-based authentication allowing seamless integration with an existing PKI.
The previous version of the BoKS SSH Client for Windows utilized a command line interface for all SSH access methods such as scp, sftp, SSH X11 forwarding, SSH port forwarding, remote shell, etc. The new SFTP graphical user interface adds a modern, Explorer-like file manager to the BoKS SSH client for Windows for improved usability and ease-of-use.
"The graphical user interface makes our sftp services available for a broader audience. System administrators appreciate the efficient command line interface and often use it for scripting as well. Naturally, these features remain unaltered. However, end-users familiar with the look and feel of MS-Windows Explorer will be happy to find their files securely transferred by means of a few mouse clicks", says Per Eliasson, Product Manager for FoxT IT Controls (BoKS).
"Many IT organizations are facing a new set of requirements that mandate protection of data in transit and at rest," states Subhash Tantry, CEO of FoxT. "As a result, insecure procedures for data transfers need to be replaced with safe communications based on efficient encryption of data and strong authentication of users. Clear-text protocols such as FTP are no longer accepted. FoxT's IT Controls solution, with the newly enhanced SSH Client for Windows, enables role-based access controls for operating system services, to facilitate compliance while establishing a secure IT infrastructure."
