FoxT ApplicationControl
What does it do?
FoxT ApplicationControl is an enterprise solution designed to help companies centrally define and enforce access control policies across their business applications. The solution's key functions are:
- Fine-grained authorization: Policies for controlling access to business applications are defined centrally through fine-grained authorization rules.
- Centralized user administration: Administrators can instantly provision user access to applications, or block users from accessing applications, from a remote, centralized location and user-friendly access management dashboard.
- Contextual multi-factor authentication: Organizations can also define how users should authenticate when accessing specific applications. For example: passwords for applications with a low level of risk, and stronger multi-factor authentication for higher-risk applications.
- Enterprise single sign-on: User logon information for multiple applications can be combined in one credential, giving users secure enterprise single sign-on (SSO), speeding the login process, and minimizing problems related to managing multiple passwords.
- Network encryption: All traffic between workstations and application servers is encrypted, so information in transit is protected from unauthorized access.
- Consolidated audit logs and compliance reporting: All attempts by users to access applications are recorded in a central system log instead of having multiple, scattered audit logs across applications to streamline PCI, HIPAA, FER/NERC, SOX and other compliance reporting requirements.
How is it used?
FoxT ApplicationControl is typically used by organizations to provide a higher degree of access control for mission-critical applications. While not all applications within an organization will normally be seen as mission-critical, applications that process sensitive business data, or data that is subject to PCI, HIPAA, SOX and other regulatory scrutiny, will often be categorized as "high risk" applications.
These can include applications processing financial data that may be subject to accounting legislation, and applications that contain customer data that must be kept confidential. FoxT ApplicationControl provides safeguards to data integrity since it helps ensure that only authorized users are accessing data via applications, and also delivers centralized user activity logs that make the auditing and compliance reporting process much easier.
FoxT ApplicationControl delivers a powerful set of features that help organizations standardize their application access controls management across the enterprise. What applications does it protect?
While FoxT ApplicationControl features interfaces for some common ERP applications, most organizations leverage the FoxT Software Development Kit which enables the solution to be extended to provide access control management for legacy and other customized business applications.
